This steel is incredibly hard. The beauty of the hard steel is that it can be honed to a very fine cutting edge and it will stay sharp. However the blade will chip if the tool is used roughly or is used as a lever in the slightest bit. While we love to use these chisels, we do not recommend this tool for beginners or for
