It is a soft, spongy, long lasting and natural material that offers excellent drainage, aeration and moisture holding abilities. You can use it on its own or add it to your favorite potting mix. I like to mix it with some perlite and a bit of orchid bark. I also like to use it on its own to root cuttings and seedlings!
